Young children can explore the orchestra instrument families (strings, woodwinds, brass, keyboard & percussion) with a live demonstration each week from various faculty members of Cortelyou Music & Play. Kids will enjoy a variety of styles of music in digestible bite sized portions and play with a variety of musical toys. They will also get to touch and in some cases play the real instruments.

This class is mainly geared toward children that will soon be able to start private lessons (3-5) however it is open to older children and toddlers as well.

Toddler Social Hour is a small playgroup (8 max) designed to develop essential social skills and bridge the gap between parallel play (playing alongside others) and cooperative play (playing with others).
Multiple activities available in the space require mastering the concept of taking turns, including: climbing toys, slides, balance beams, giant building blocks, and our magnet wall toys. The host will help parents and toddlers resolve minor squabbles but this playgroup is mostly about natural open-ended social play with minimal instructor input.

Please note: This is a caregiver-facilitated play session. Parents and caregivers are expected to actively pay attention to their children during play. This is not a drop-off class.

Toddler Junior Jam classes are fun-filled, structured music classes that emphasize discovering the singing voice and developing an internal sense of beat. Children will explore music through movement, instruments, games and more!
